Kathryn Canavan is an award-winning freelance reporter who writes for USA Today, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the AARP Newsletter, magazines and websites. She was chosen as a 2011 National Health Journalism Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School.  She began researching the unintended consequences of the Lincoln assassination in 2009, and is currently writing a history.
